Gordon Ramsay – No Ordinary Trifle

We just had to share this video with you.  It’s from a new film starring Dougray Scott and Gordon Ramsay (playing himself, unconvincingly) called Love’s Kitchen which opened last weekend.  Originally called ‘No Ordinary Trifle’, not even a name change could rescue this flick.

It was rumoured to have taken only £121 on opening weekend and scored a massive 8% on RottenTomatoes‘ ‘Tomatometer’.

Here are some of our favourite critic reviews:

“Ham, corn and cheese are the only things this kitchen is serving up – even before Gordon Ramsay’s awful cameo.”
Anna Smith, Empire Magazine

“Love’s Kitchen is a rural British romcom that appears to have been assembled by a committee of village idiots.”
Christopher Tookey, Daily Mail

“Gordon Ramsay must be the first man I’ve ever seen to be out-acted by his own hair transplant.”
Robbie Collin, News of the World

Our favourite is this user review.

“If someone invites you to see this film, ask them to punch you repeatedly in the face for 90 minutes instead. I guarantee that this will be far more pleasurable than the alternative – a saccharine romantic “comedy” in which the acting is so unbelievably poor that Gordon Ramsay fails to convince as himself”
Hayley Wright

The film is about Rob Haley (Dougray Scott), who after his wife dies, decides to move to the country and turn a run-down pub into a gourmet restaurant. There’s not a lot more we can say about the film as we haven’t seen it.

What gives us the right to join in the panning of the movie?  … We watched the trailer.  It’s enough to discourage anyone.  It appears to have worked too – over 100,000 people saw the trailer but barely a handful saw the movie version.
