Following on from our earlier post of other cool foodie things that we like, we bring you Venn Street Market in SW4, Clapham.
Having previously been around but in limited form only opening the last Saturday of each month, & then sadly moving to the streets of Balham, we are thrilled to hear that Venn Street Market is rightly back where it belongs, and now open every Saturday and Sunday.
It isn’t the biggest of markets, it’s very twee but what it might lack in size it more than makes up for in the quality and quirkiness of its produce. Nestled in a cobbled street lane, with the indy Clapham Picturehouse Cinema on one side & cafes/restaurants on the other- it is a pleasure to meander through the dozen or so stalls.
With fresh veg, olives, meats, cheese, cakes, muffins, deliciously smelling hog roast, the famed taco stand and & a new Vietnamese coffee stand (and more) it has something for everyone. On Sunday’s, in amongst the food stalls you’ll find an emphasis on crafts & plants as well but this just adds to the atmosphere.
Why not pop along one weekend this December, you never know it might inspire you for present ideas…and you can always have a little stop off in one of the cafes for a naughty marshmallow topped hot chocolate!
